Project Overview

Logile provides a comprehensive platform for store planning, scheduling, and execution, which was initially limited to a web application. The goal of this project was to extend this seamless experience to a mobile application. I collaborated with project managers and stakeholders to deliver key modules and features for the mobile apps.

Introduction

Logile's solutions enable retailers to optimize the two most important controllable store expenses, labor and inventory, by ensuring that they always have the right employee in the right place at the right time, and the right goods on the shelf at the right price. Here we will go through one such problem that user was facing and how we tackled the same.

Problem Statement

Users of the Logile Connect app had to navigate through various modules and pages to find the information they needed. This process was time-consuming and frustrating, especially when users needed to quickly access data to make informed decisions. Additionally, the search experience was not user-friendly, making it difficult to find specific information even when using the existing search function.

Research & Reviews

Research & User Interviews helped us understand few main takeaways:

Lack of user-friendly search function

To view results from mail, calendar, and people, and accessing multiple modules to get to desired result should be simple. Our search was not comprehensive and coordinated.

Inefficient search process

Typing on phones without any assistance is not an efficient way to search. And on top of it, users were forced to input whole searches and go through a long, flat list of results.

Zero query handling

As compared to any traditional searches in the market, this app did not have any suggestions that were related to users recent searches or any previous interactions user had on this app.

User Journey & Search Result

User-Friendly Design

Creating a consolidated module for a clutter free menu section and giving option for Search with this view for new users. This helped current user to focus on important modules as compared to distracting options which existed earlier. We have also introduced Help section for new users to get the in-app guides that will help them get introduced to new features of the screen.

Zero Query Zone

With the help of our research and interaction with users we got to know that people were looking for similarities in the searches being used in the market. So we introduced Zero query zone, where users were given options based on their recently searches, activities or interaction with other users on the application. This helped us to introduce both employees as well as module suggestions within the zero query screen that helps user with quick access around the application.

Live Searches

With the help of developers, we were able to introduce live searches as the user types and also introduced filter option for any quick filtering that is needed on the go. This helped to get the recent keywords searched, suggested keywords that was recently used by user or trending in the store.

Desired Result

Key decision of including filter gave employees great power over SERP. This helped them to search within a module or employee or chat section. Moreover, they can easily switch across different result types suing this filter making it a powerful tool for users or employees using it, to get the desired result.
